Kratis was a cynical Greek philosopher and the most important student of the famous philosopher Diogenes. He was born around 330 B.C in Thebes, a city northwest of Athens. Even though he was originated from a wealthy family, he was living in a very humble and simple way as he believed that philosophers shouldn’t depend on money. All his work which includes poems, letters and tragedies has a pure philosophical content.
Some of his words include:
  • The whole world is my country and my home
  • It’s impossible to find a faultless human being; just like the pomegranate there is always a rotten grain.
